Women-Owned Business of the Month

Diandra Culver

Diandra owns the cutest little cupcake shop in Central Florida called Sweet Dee’s Cupcakery. She’s always loved baking and creating cakes for family and friends. In fact, she even worked part-time for a family friend’s bakery when she wasn’t planning special events for her full-time job at Disney. Eventually, her husband found her the most amazing location in downtown Winter Garden and the rest is history.

Her vision for Sweet Dee’s Cupcakery is to bake the world a better place. So she gives back to different organizations every month. She’s done everything from Girl Scout cookie flavored cupcakes for Girl Scout Scholarships to Pride macarons to support organizations that help LGBTQ+ youth. Plus, she’s also a part of an organization, Icing Smiles, where she creates cakes for children fighting terminal illnesses.

If you’re ever in Central Florida, stop by and say hi to Diandra! She loves getting to meet fellow Lilly lovers and she’s easy to spot because she’ll be the one in the Lilly Luxletic leggings. Or check out her site here.

Lilly Lover of the Month

Raechele (Rae) Marie McMahan

Rae was born in Jupiter, FL, and growing up, she was always mesmerized by the bright colors all around her. It wasn’t until she was in college that she went to her first Lilly store — a day she will always remember.

Throughout and after college, her friends described her as being cheerful, positive, and bright. This is because her outlook on life completely changed after being diagnosed with Hodgkin’s disease at 17. Rae went through chemotherapy and persevered with a smile on her face. After being gifted a wish from the Make a Wish foundation, she vowed to give back.

Today she is in the healthcare industry. Her health history combined with her career allowed her to start her own 501c3 called the Rae of Sunshine Foundation. This foundation helps chronically or terminally ill children and their families in the central Florida area move into permanent housing. Rae brings her outlook and some sunshine to those in need. Learn more about her organization here.

Rae lives in Orlando, FL today and loves to match with her 5-year-old son in some Lilly prints; passing along her love for bright colors and living life to the fullest.
